How to Display: Oil Circle Paintings

Installing Circle Oil Paintings

When hanging your art piece, make sure the screw hits a stud. In the case your chosen spot does not have a stud, use drywall anchors that can hold 50lbs+.

*The artist is not responsible for any damages or injuries incurred during or after the installation process by the customer.

*Installation on tile, glass or brick walls is not recommended.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  • Drill/Screwdriver
  • Drywall Screws and Drywall Anchors (Optional)
  • Stud finder
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil

INSTALLATION:

1. Use your stud finder to locate a stud on the wall which you would like to hang your art piece. Mark with a pencil the center of the stud.

2. A keyhole has been cut in the back of the artwork in which the screw head will sit in. This keyhole is cut at approximately the following measurements from the top edge based on the size of the artwork:

24" Circle Painting - 8" from top edge or 4" north of the painting's center line.

This keyhole measurement will help determine where to install the screw.

It is best to hang artwork at eye level, 57’’ inches from center to the floor is recommended (this is the average human eye level). Depending on the size of your artwork, you will add the keyhole measurement to 57".

For 24’’ Circle Paintings

57" + 5" = 62"

Measure 62" up from the floor and mark that height using a pencil. Be sure this height mark also lines up with the stud mark.

3. Drill a heavy duty screw into the wall through the center of the stud, leaving about 1/4" space between the wall and the screw head.

4. Taking your art piece, insert the screw in the bottom end of the keyhole, and slowly slide the painting down until you feel the screw head stop and hold snugly at the top of the keyhole.

Installing Circle Oil Paintings Above Furniture:

If you’re hanging artwork above furniture, the bottom edge of the painting can sit 4-6’’ above the furniture. Depending on the size of your artwork, you will add the bottom edge height with half the diameter of your piece and the keyhole measurement listed from above:

For 24’’ Circle Paintings

5" + 12" + 5" = 22"

So you would measure and mark 22" above the piece of furniture for where you will drill your screw. Be sure this height mark also lines up with the center of a stud. Once you have your mark, follow steps 3 and 4 from above.
